HISTORY
To contribute to the cultural development of the area, Capitol Views Studios, Doing Business As (DBA) Center co-owned by Thomas Swanston and Gail Foster, took the lead in purchasing and renovating a 4,000 sq ft Masonic Lodge. The transformed space now serves as working studios, offices, a boutique exhibition area, and a 1,000 sq ft event space suitable for classes, workshops, and unique arts-based events. But this endeavor is not just about revitalizing brick and mortar; it is about fostering a communal gathering spot—a sanctuary where art and humanity converge.
“Center” the non-profit 501c3 as of August 21, 2023, serves as a communal gathering spot where residents can come together and experience the arts through various programs, exhibitions, and educational initiatives. What sets Center apart is its unyielding dedication to giving back to the Chattahoochee Hills and Rico Crossings community. Center views this endeavor as a noble service, nurturing smart rural growth and ensuring the longevity of the organization. By actively engaging with the community, It sow the seeds of artistic passion and pride in the Chattahoochee Hills, Rico Crossings, and greater South Fulton Communities.
The rich tapestry of events curated by Center is awe-inspiring, with an array of art workshops spanning drawing, painting, mixed media, ceramics, textiles, and creative writing at its forefront. Master classes, live performances, open studios for resident artists, and an educational internship program further enrich the artistic tapestry.
